  3. What types of operating systems are supported?
    SecureMode Rapid Restore PC manages and protects systems running the following non-server based operating systems.
    • Windows XP Professional-Fat16, Fat32, or NTFS
    • Windows XP Home-Fat16, FatAT32, or NTFS
    • Windows 2000 Professional, Service Pack 2 or higher-Fat32 or NTFS
    In addition, SecureMode Rapid Restore Server supports systems running Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server™ 2003.

  4. How can I obtain this software program?
    Xpoint SecureMode Rapid Restore PC, PRO, and Server are available from the download section of this website. A license is required to run the program; single user licenses may be purchased online from the purchase section of this web site.

  6. What happens if my system is off when a backup is scheduled?
    You are prompted to back up your system as soon as it is restarted.

  7. Do I have to be logged in at all times?
    Once you have fully logged on to your system, you can log off and backups will still occur.


  8. Do my personal settings get saved along with my data?
    Yes, all settings including bookmarks, layout, and user preferences are backed up for restore capability.


  9. Are my business data and database files backed up?
    SecureMode Rapid Restore PC, SecureMode Rapid Restore PRO, and SecureMode Rapid Restore Server back up all data files and all locally saved databases. Although not required, it is optional if all local applications are closed down during the backup process. However, backing up live (open) database files requires the Locked File Manager, which is included in the SecureMode Rapid Restore PRO and the SecureMode Rapid Restore Servern

  11. When the backup occurs, will it affect system performance?
    Although during the backup process, the CPU is used to backup and compress your data, user can still carry out their normal usage of the computer. The application can be customized to throttle the CPU priority.


  12. How are the SecureMode Rapid Restore Solutions backups created?
    SecureMode Rapid Restore create a hidden, protected partition on the primary hard drive, and then back up the entire system including all data files onto this partition.

  13. How are SecureMode Rapid Restore PC, SecureMode Rapid Restore PRO, and SecureMode Rapid Restore Server backups created?
    The One Button Restore® Manager is the backbone of SecureMode Rapid Restore PC's image and data management capabilities and is accessible from several access points including its Windows and Pre-OS interfaces. In addition, SecureMode Rapid Restore PRO and SecureMode Rapid Restore Server Flexible OBRM supports backup data redundancy as well as external USB drives. In addition, SecureMode Rapid Restore PC, SecureMode Rapid Restore PRO, and SecureMode Rapid Restore Server are easily extendible to support remote management with the purchase of SecureMode Rapid Restore Enterprise.
    • Windows Graphical User Inter face (Windows Inter face)
      In the event of the deletion of essential data, a computer virus, or any other catastrophe requiring a user to revert to a previous hard disk state, the OBRM's graphical user interface can initiate a full or single file restoration.
    • Before Windows Starts (Pre-Operating System Interface)
      In the event of a complete operating system failure, or if a user is unable to boot to Windows, the One Button Restore Manager's pre-operating system interface can initiate a full restoration. The pre-OS interface is assessable at boot time by pressing the F11 key. The OBRM pre-OS interface operates at the BIOS level and redirects the system to boot from SecureMode Rapid Restore PC's boot manager.
